WhatToWatch ("we", "us") operates whattowatch.app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the service, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details you provide (email, display name, profile bio) or receive from sign-in providers (Google, GitHub, Telegram).
- Watch activity you create or import: watchlists, watched history, ratings, lists, and scrobble events from connected services.
- Notification preferences and linked accounts (e.g. Telegram chat id for bot delivery).
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and approximate usage patterns needed to operate and secure the service.
- Optional push notification subscription endpoints if you enable browser notifications.
How we use information
- Provide core features: tracking, recommendations, social feed, and notifications.
- Send emails or Telegram messages you have opted into.
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-party services
We use infrastructure and integration partners (for example Cloudflare for hosting, TMDB for catalog metadata, and OAuth providers for sign-in). Those services process data only as needed to deliver the feature you use. See Copyright & Attributions for data-source notices.
Retention & deletion
We keep your account data while your account is active. You may request account deletion via the Help Center; we will remove personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations and backup retention limits.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact us through the Help Center and we will respond as required by applicable law.
