Investigator Ingo Thiel and his colleague, forensic scientist Martha, examine the crime scene and the disfigured body, which shows clear signs of violence. The woman's identity remains a mystery at first, but facial reconstruction and international cooperation soon lead the investigators to Italy, where the network of clues becomes increasingly dense.
