Tragedy takes hold at the start of South of Nowhere's third and final season as the prom-night shooting claims its victims and Spencer and Ashley struggle to make sense of their relationship in the aftermath. For Ashley this means dropping out of school, grabbing Kyla and leaving home to find herself and start anew in the world outside. But will she only find herself falling back into old habits and old relationships? Meanwhile this leaves Spencer to face being the "out" girl in school without Ash to protect her. Will the series' end see Spencer and Ashley reunited, or will life have other plans for this star-crossed couple? Got it all figured out? Think again.

Later, when Spencer finds out that Ashley and Aiden spent the night together, she decides to end her relationship with Ashley. Meanwhile, Glen tries to think of a way to get out of serving in the Army.

Glen comes home to find Arthur "son-ing" Aiden, who is also dating the new girl, Sasha Miller. Meanwhile, Jake decides to scam Ashley and make Kyla's voice on the cd fake, seeing as how she can't sing.

Oct 17, 2008Spencer's grandmother comes to visit for her special day. Spencer has a hard time telling her grandmother about her newfound sexuality. Meanwhile, Spencer gets to know Lily's girlfriend, Jonica. Kyla and Ashley are asked to sing on national televison, they embarrass themseleves live, all thanks to Kyla and her fake voice. Meanwhile, Glen becomes hurt when he witness Aiden spending quality time with his father.
