Nevertheless, the former German-German division plays a role for the young people. For example, when Lilly from Lower Saxony is called a "Wessi" in Halle (Saale). Or when Maurice from Saxony-Anhalt talks about "Ossis" in his environment. For Katharina, the topic has been omnipresent since her childhood: her parents moved from West Germany to East Germany before she was born and never really settled in. Duc from Chemnitz, on the other hand, struggles with another question of identity: is he more Vietnamese or German?
