The first payday, he's invited out for a drink where they're accosted by a yakuza.

Misuzu and Hitomi call on Kintaro at home, but they're left to twiddle their thumbs when Kintaro realizes that it's Ryuta's birthday, and he rushes off to Akemi's gravesite.
